Custom Stoneware Ceramic Tile Mosaic Orders

Start with a Conversation

Whether it creating one of our ceramic and mosaic wall art pieces or bringing new life to a forgotten furniture piece, we enjoy working on custom projects.  The process for creating custom work is started with a simple conversation.  Reach out to us by email us at romyandclaredesigns@gmail.com or phone us at (812) 827-3449.  We welcome custom residential or commercial projects.  Just let us know what you are interested in creating by reaching out to us.

Custom Furniture embellished with our Handmade Ceramic Tile Mosaics

We often have furniture finds that we fall in love with on one of our “picking” adventures that we can embellish to your specifications or we can work with something of your own that you may want to bring new life to.  We have worked with hutches, mirrors, dressers, night stands, buffets, lamps, etc!  The process starts with a conversation and usually requires you to email or etsy convo us images of the piece you are working with.  Geography may prevent us from accepting certain projects, but we are happy to explore available options.  The process for creating furniture or home decor accent pieces follows much like the process for creating custom clay tile mosaic wall that we have outlined below.

Creating Custom Handmade Clay Tile Mosaic Wall Art

Measurements

First steps typically start with measurements.  Is there a particular size you are looking for or do you simply have a range of measurements to stay within?  Once we have a size, we can calculate a price.

Subject Matter

What is the subject matter of the tile work and/or mosaic work you are interested in?  You can refer to examples of our work from our website or online shop or something you have seen at one of our shows. Sending us links or photos is the easiest way for us to see the direction you want to go.

Quick Sketch

At this point we can generate a quick sketch which typically includes dimensions and a general look at the subject matter of the wall art. After reviewing the sketch, you are welcome to make adjustments if necessary.

Color Palette

We are more than happy to accommodate requests such as background colors or the omission of certain colors.  We do like to stay within our palette of colors and in some cases we are limited in our flexibility by how the glazes behave in our layering process, but are happy to do so where possible.

Time Frame

Amount of time needed to complete most custom projects is three to six weeks.  The duration may be longer depending upon the project’s complexity, size, or materials.  We will approximate for you the time frame for completion of your project.

Payment and Completion

Once you have reviewed and approved the parameters, you may make payment and we begin work on your order.  Upon completion we carefully package your order and ship it from our studio at which time you will receive tracking information so you know precisely when your artwork will arrive.
